Nature, Landscape and City photography from the UK and New Zealand.

Welcome to my web site, I hope you enjoy your visit.

My start in photography began from a keen interest in nature and the world around us. From schooldays it was apparent the ability to record this with artistic skill was not going to come easily, so the desire to capture images came through the camera.

Over the years the camera became a tool which would allow the exploration of scenes which could be shared with others. From the open landscape to intimate natural details, with practice and much wasted film, the results finally began to match the scenes in view.

By sharing some of these with you it is hoped you will enjoy looking for such images yourself.

As a teacher of photography in adult education, some details of photographic equipment and techniques have been added, hopefully these will be of interest to the photographers among you.

For those of you interested, details of forthcoming photography courses can be found in the News and Learning Photography sections.

NEW - There is now a blog you can follow with information on photography, including how to, information about why shots were framed or taken. It's just started, but there's already some interesting stuff there, take a look. Closescapes blog.
